Golf Is A Mental Talent

Many people have the physical parts of the game down but can?t get their mental golf game in check. The best way to begin improving your mental game is simply, to simplify. You have time between each shot to think and plan, but this can, at times, be a disadvantage. Over-thinking a shot can lead to worse, not better, play. If your brain is clogged with thoughts and signals, you most likely will not carry out the desired play.

Second-guessing yourself can also damage your mental game. You pick one club but then decide another one is better. Or when putting you think it should be hit at one angle, then walk around and see it should be different. All these variables can add confusion and stress to play, and will negatively affect your game. Stress in your body can even affect your stance, leading to poorly executed shots.

The first step in clearing the mind is thinking only of the present situation. The player should not focus on past shots or the score. Think only of the shot that is being played at the moment.
If thoughts are crowding the mind, focus on your breathing or a few golf-related words that you can repeat to yourself to create focus.

Instead of attempting to practice the mechanics of your stance and swing on the field, reduce the amount of thinking and simply let your body take over the physical aspect. The more focused and clear the mind is, the better your body can take over.

The mindset of trying to get a certain score can also cripple a game. If you are consistently unhappy with your game, step back and work on techniques and skill, rather than continue to face frustration on the course. Having a mental state of anger and frustration can block successful golfers from achieving their potential.

When you have improved skills and techniques to a point where you are comfortable on the course and show increasingly improved scores, the next mental step is breaking beyond your comfort zone. Fear stops many from trying for higher scores. If you seek to stay in the same standing and play only for social occasions, this is not a problem, but if you are seeking to improve your game, you should be prepared to break out of your comfort zone, as this is the only way to truly see results.

Basics For Those Golf Basics

Basics For "Those Golf Basics"

A Gap in Golf Instruction?

In early 2004 I read an Internet article which contained the
statement that "golfers are desperately looking for golf
instruction".

Hold on here! There has been some of the finest instruction for
any sport provided in current golf teaching. For someone to make
the above statement, it would seem ludicrous. I mean, there are
some tremendous golf teachers out there. They rank from those
who you see on the Golf Channel to those terrific gals and guys
who you know at your nearby golf course.

But, the above statement hints that something is not working.
Well, I have a good idea what is not working and what should
work. (Notice, I did not say that I KNOW what is not working.)

I will be introducing you to some new and vital golf tips and
golf instruction from this website. You will NOT be learning a
whole new method of swinging the golf club. This will not be some "revolutionary" golf swing theory. What I will show you are some fundamentals of golf swing movements which will prepare you for
the golf swing ideas presented in current theories of golf
instruction.

I have had experience as a physical education teacher from
Grades 1 to 9. In one year I saw the full development from
a struggling Grade 1 student learning basic athletic movements
all the way to fluid-moving Grade 9 students (nearly a full-grown
adult). And, within that one year I quickly learned how to
develop that final fluid movement throughout all the 'in-between"
growing stages.

(By the way, this is an experience that all Golf Pros should go
through to learn the deepest levels of teaching in their
profession.)

I know the difficulty people of any age have in trying to learn
NEW body movements for any sport. Come to think of it - I know
that same difficulty for people of all ages when they try to
learn anything from how to safely cut a slice of roast beef to
how to correctly type out an email message to send to their
family or friends.

I've played most sports - except lacrosse. I am still learning
new concepts of how to correctly move for the sports that I use
to play. (A young lacrosse player showed me some moves that are
part of the golf swing. Aha! Didn't know that did you?)

That is the key! You have to be willing to learn new concepts.
Even the new concepts of Natural Golf and Gravity Golf, to name
two, seem to miss the concept of basic body movement from which
"the basics of golf" can be taught.

The Golf Teaching Pro industry has very good "teaching stuff".

But, there is SOMETHING MISSING!

Many people try to play golf and too many of those give up.

A possible answer: Golf instruction has originated from people
who have "figured" out how to do that which is good for their
own golf game. Because no other starting point was available,
mimicking the successful golfers and following their advice has
been the starting point for beginners or struggling golfers.

I was taught how to teach athletics from a man who loved soccer.
I had never played soccer until I met him in university. I not
only became a good soccer player - I became a good teacher of
soccer and any other sport.

That man taught us how to teach during the process of teaching
us how to play the game and learn the skills. And, since he was
preparing us to "go forth" and teach little children, he also
showed us how to teach to various levels of physical and mental
development.

I have discovered that everyone who wants to learn how to swing
that "stick" to smack that "little white ball" has to learn some
simple Grade 1 type of movements.

Guess what! Those simple movements do not have to be golf-
related movements.

I have made a point of trying to find ways of relating common,
everyday life skill movements to the golf swing. I have tried
to relate the movements in a lot of other sports to the golf
swing movements. My conclusion? Everyone has already learned
something in their life which will help them learn an effective
way to hit the golf ball.

If you have ever tried to cut thin slices off a roast beef you
know that a certain skill or attentiveness is required. You need
to have precise movements and a "whole lot of no movements" to
do that job without cutting your finger off.

Silly analogy, I know. But, the connection is that controlled
movement along with absolute non-movement is important for
anything we do. That includes the golf swing.

Basic Teaching Concepts

What I teach is basic body movement which is controlled for the
precision needed as you teach your mind and body how to handle
a golf club.

I make people believers that they have the talent to enjoy this
sport even though they may have been given the idea that they
were not athletes or were too uncoordinated to do any sports.
I have always transformed these people within 5 minutes of my
first lesson.

You will learn, from my golf lesson modules, new information
which will teach you how to prepare to move and then how to
move during your golf swing. My methods work quickly because
they teach people how to make simple athletic movements. I could
charge a high price for each module. The information is valuable.
But, I am here to support the whole golf industry. I want you to
start with what you will learn from my modules and then progress
on to more advanced golf instruction, buy green fees, buy golf
clubs, etc. from the established golf pros and golf courses.

Fire in the Hole

Why am I stepping into a "fire of controversy" that awaits me?

Oh yes! I have been challenged for what I do in golf instruction.
But, I know something new! It brought me golf students from
outside the local area where I set up shop to teach local
golfers. There are a number of nearby Golf Pros offering their
services. Some of my students had taken lessons from these Pros
in the past. But, they came to me to learn some missing elements
in golf instruction.

In my first year I taught 115 registered students an average of
5 lessons each. As word spread of my teaching, golfers of various
levels came to me for 1 to 3 lessons. There were less than 10
registered students in the previous year.

No golf Pro was available in that town. I said to people, "I can
do that." I got involved to fill the gap. I am a teacher, more
specifically, a teacher of athletics. I have patience. I was
what a lot of people wanted for their first try at learning to
golf or fix some problems with their current golf game. I made
a lot of money for nearby golf businesses by starting people into
golf with an enthusiastic desire to enjoy being on golf outings
with their friends and families.

I have no intention of becoming "the great wizard" of something
new in golf instruction.

But, here I am! Giving you a new way of learning how to play
golf which simply gets beginners learning how to do a good golf
swing very fast. Many of these people just want to be able to
get a few good golf hits at the company "beer and food"
celebration type of scramble golf tournament.

A number of my students have come back to me saying that they
"had a hoot" at their company golf tournament. They met new
business clients, they met new friends, they found a new way
to drink beer and swallow kaviar (whoops!), or whatever. They
were there because somebody (like me) gave them some golf
lessons which sent them on the way to enjoy their company party.

And, because they were new to golf they had to look into getting
some golf equipment and find places to golf. The result? The
golf pros, who did not get the lesson money, got other golf
related expenses from these new golfers.

I toiled at this for about $10.00 per hour just to see wonderful
people of all ages get a gentle start into an activity which I
have a great passion for.

I am happy that I got involved.

I am content that I came up with some new ideas to teach golf to
people who want to quickly learn if they can hit a golf ball
some of the time like those great golfers we see on television.

Surprising Techniques

For your early interest I do teach a putting method which is
a miniature version of the full swing and almost every other
swing in-between. How simple golf can be if you can practice
putting and, at the same time, actually practice parts of your
full swing.

For your interest I do have a golf lesson which gets new or
struggling golfers hitting the ball like good golfers within
30 minutes in their first lesson. The only times I have failed
at doing this is when we just had such a good time chatting about
things during the 30 minutes that it just took longer to go
through my lesson.

Here is something really new. My next article in this series
leading toward my golf instruction modules is:

One Wrong Thought Causes Sooooo Many Of The Bad Hits
You See And Do

Here is another important thought. My teaching will lead you
into various golf swing methods which you see advertised. Three
of these are the Traditional Swing, The Natural Golf Swing, and
Gravity Golf. My original goal was to make it easier for you to
learn the traditional swing used by most golfers. When I finally
got to see books and videos of the other two methods I discovered
that I was teaching elements of these swing concepts.

Myrtle Beach Golf Vacations and Hurricanes How to Weather the Storm

Hurricane season in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina runs from June through November each year. The peak months for hurricane activity are August and September. If you are planning a Myrtle Beach golf vacation during these times of the year, you should prepare yourself before arriving at your golf destination. This article provides tips and advice on how to weather any storm the tropics might throw at you while enjoying your golf vacation.

NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, predicts that 2005 will be another above-average Atlantic hurricane season. The organization predicts 12 to15 tropical storms, 7 to 9 hurricanes and 3 to 5 major hurricanes. Vacationing golfers should not take these predictions lightly. We have already seen one of the busiest Julys in the history of hurricane tracking.

Golfers should not let these predictions deter them from taking a golf trip to the Myrtle Beach area during the summer and fall seasons. Summer golf deals along the Grand Strand are hotter than our southern summers. Also, fall in Myrtle Beach provides golfers with dropping accommodation rates to accompany falling temperatures and humidity.

If you are unlucky enough to be right in the middle of a golf vacation when a hurricane takes aim at the coast of the Carolinas, dont worry. Unlike an unexpected afternoon thunderstorm, hurricanes do not sneak up on the South Carolina coast. This gives vacationing golfers plenty of time to leave before the situation gets dangerous.

The best piece of advice we can offer if you plan on visiting the Grand Strand golf area during hurricane season is to keep an eye on the extended Myrtle Beach weather forecast. If a hurricane approaches during your trip, don't panic. As soon as it looks like you may need to abandon your golf vacation, begin following these steps.

  • Watch the local weather station and follow their advice.

  • Check on earlier flights and arrive earlier at the airport.

  • Fill your car with a full tank of gas at first sign of hurricane.

  • Map out evacuation routes before your leave.

  • Pack water and food in case of traffic jams when driving.

  • Dont wait until the last minute to evacuate.

Most golf packages provide refunds or rain checks in the event of cancellations and evacuations due to hurricanes. Make sure to ask about this before booking your Myrtle Beach golf vacation. Even if you are not planning a Myrtle Beach golf trip during hurricane season, go ahead and ask your golf package provider about refunds and cancellations caused by bad weather.

Whatever you do, dont take the threat of hurricanes lightly. Pay attention to local weather forecasts. Listen to local officials. Follow the steps above and giver yourself plenty of time to evacuate your golf vacation destination safely.

Williamsburg Virginia is widely known among golf enthusiasts as the golf capital of the East Coast. Many avid golfers retire or relocate to Williamsburg, Virginia so they can be near a wide selection of courses. Following is a sampling of golf courses in Williamsburg, with links to their web sites, where you will find virtual tours, tour packages, and descriptions of the courses.

Royal New Kent (http://www.traditionalclubs.com/ROYAL/)
In 2002, Golf Digest deemed Royal New Kent a 4 1/2 star course. The course flows across 7, 372 yards of Virginia countryside and has been likened to Irish links. Tall grasses blowing in the wind against a backdrop of sharp, green, grassy knolls and hand-stacked rocks are the reason for this comparison to the Emerald Isle. Golfers are challenged by the opportunity for blind shots in the contoured fairways. Golfers appreciate the par 72 design with over 120 bunkers. Each hole offers many different playing options. Expect special treatment from curbside attendants, who greet you and unload your bags, and upon completion wipe your clubs and put them in the car.

Colonial Williamsburg The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club
(http://www.goldenhorseshoegolf.com/)
Choose from three courses at Colonial Williamsburg. Visit the web site for a virtual tour of each.
The Gold Course
This 18 hole course was opened in 1963 and was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Senior, who considers it one of his finest designs ever. The course is 6,817 yards, and offers a par 71 design.
The Green Course
Another 18 hole adventure, this course was designed by Rees Jones, the son of Jones Sr. The Green Course is a longer design then the Gold Course. Although it is created from the same terrain as The Gold Course, this course is less challenging. The Green Course is 7,120 yards and offers a Par 72 design.
The Spotswood Course
This 9 hole wonder was named for a former governor of Colonial Virginia, Alexander Spotswood. Jones Sr. updated the 1947 design in 1963 on the Williamsburg Inns property.

Williamsburg National Golf Club (http://wngc.com)
Golf Digest gave this Nicklaus Design Associates course a 3 1/2 star rating and added their recommendation of the WNGC as one of the top 10 courses in Virginia. The 18-hole design is unique for its tree-lined fairways with challenging holes and wetlands for natural obstacles. The black course is 6,953 yards with a par 73; the blue course is 6,411yards with a par 70; the white course is 5,900 yards with a par 67; the green course is 5, 122 yards with a par 68.

Colonial Golf Club, Lanexa (http://www.golfcolonial.com)
Golf Digest recently gave the Colonial Golf Club in Lanexa Virginia a 4 star rating. The tree lined course, in a tidal marsh setting is enhanced by a complete lack of development in the surrounding area. A public 3-hole regulation practice course is available for $18 and no prior reservation. This 18-hole course allows the golfer to choose from five sets of tees (4,568-6,885 yards) and is a par 72. Golf enthusiasts love taking the challenge of The Abyss a par 3 that is both renowned and cursed in the Williamsburg area.

Kiskiack Golf Club, Croaker (www.williamsburggolf.com)
This course was designed by John LaFaoy and his goal was to balance playability with overall aesthetics. Shorter hitters and golfers more comfortable playing knock-down shots will appreciate this course. Golfers rise to the challenge of the signature hole -- number 11. This 200- yard par 3 is played over a body of water to a peninsula style green set in natural surroundings. The Green course is 6,775 yards with a par 72; the Gold course is 6,405 yards with a par 70; the Black Course is 5,595 yards with a Par 67; The Grey course is 4,902 yards with a Par 67.

If you love golf, you may want to retire, relocate, or purchase a second home in the area. Maybe you are the type of golfer who wants to live and play in your own backyard If so, visit http://www.voncannonrealestate.com and read my other article: Live and Play in Your Own Backyard: Golf Communities in Williamsburg. This article offers a short description of courses inside golf communities in Williamsburg, and nearly all of these are open to the public for golfing.

Controlling The Golf Club

Controlling The Golf Club

 by: Chuck Evans

THE TRIAD - CHUCK EVANS, G.S.E.D.

As players we NEED to understand that we MUST control the three parts of the golf club in order to strike quality golf shots. These three parts are:

  1. The clubface

  2. The clubhead

  3. The clubshaft

These three parts MUST be controlled through three Stations - from Address, to the Top, and to the Finish. You'll notice that Impact is NOT included in these locations. Impact does not have the rank of a station simply because it happens if you have controlled the club through the three Stations.

1. The left hand controls the clubface and its job is to impart "Hinge Action" to the face supplying direction, trajectory, and curvature. These three "Hinge Actions" are known as (1)Vertical - a wall, (2) Horizontal - a floor, and (3)Angled - somewhere in between.

In a Geometrically correct golf stroke (ideal application) the Horizontal Hinge Action is used. This action works just like a door that is opening and closing. While on a Horizontal Plane it is clear to see that there is NO turning or rolling in either direction. But on an Inclined Plane of motion there is a turn to the right and a roll to the left.

2. The right hand - more specifically the first joint of the right index finger - controls the clubhead, its job is to sense where the clubhead is at all times and to direct the action of the clubhead. Using what is known as the "Aiming Point Concept" the direction and point of location in the downstroke varies according to hand speed, and the club being used. The shorter the club the more in front of the golf ball the "Aiming Point" is.

For example, when hitting a greenside bunker shot the player should be looking at a spot behind the golf ball. This is because that's where we want the club to strike the sand. The same principle applies here. A wedge for example would be in front of the ball. A 5 iron would be at the ball, and a Driver may be behind the ball.

3. Finally, the clubshaft controls the Plane. The Plane is the angle that the club moves back and down on. It can stay on the same Inclined Plane back and down, shift to another angle, or even have several shifts during the stroke. The simplest is to NOT shift at all. The next easiest is to only shift this plane angle once, then two shifts, then three shifts, etc. Annika Sorenstam, Tiger (when he's on), Adam Scott, Michelle Wie, and host of others use either a "Zero" or "single" shift in their procedures. Nick Price, Nick Faldo and others use a "double" shift while Jim Furyk uses a "customized" plane and multiple shifts.

You can use any of these and obviously play great golf, but remember - ANY PLANE SHIFT IS DANGEROUS!

Learn to control these three parts of the golf club and you will be on your way to golfing "Nirvana".

Par and Beyond: Secrets to Better Golf

Par and Beyond: Secrets to Better Golf

 by: Dr. Jerry V. Teplitz

You've bogeyed your last hole, you are about to hit your next drive. As you take your practice swings, your mind is still on the last putt that you blew. You take your swing and it's a slice. In your mind you say to yourself "Oh no, I'm going to bogey again!" and you do.

Sound familiar? You know the techniques and mechanics, but you just can't get either your mind or body aligned with each other so that they do what you want them to do. In a word, you are stuck and "switched off," and your golf game is not going well at all.

Golf requires you to think clearly and be analytical which arefunctions of your brain's left hemisphere. Golf also requires you to be creative and intuitive which are functions of your right hemisphere. To be a truly successful golfer you need to use both sides of your brain at the same time; you need an integrated approach.

Brain integration is one of the components of a program that uses the concept of "muscle checking." As a professional speaker and trainer, I have demonstrated this muscle checking concept for over 20 years. Audiences have found it both amazing and exciting.

To understand this concept you will need a partner to practice on as you follow these instructions.

1. Face a partner. Have your partner raise one arm straight out from the side of his body with thumb pointing down.

2. Place one hand on your partner's extended arm, above the wrist and the other on their opposite shoulder.

3. Instruct your partner to resist as you push down, firmly and steadily, on his extended arm for several seconds. Your partner's arm should not move down more than a couple of inches.

4. While your partner keeps his arm extended, have him close his eyes and think of a negative golf experience. When he has it focused, press down on his arm. His arm will come down easily.

5. Now ask your partner to think of a very positive golf experience. Once he has it in focus, press down again. His arm will stay level and strong.

6. Have your partner check you.

The muscle checking is real and repeatable. It is indicating the response of your partner's unconscious mind to negative and positive golf experiences. The results have nothing to do with muscular strength; rather, you are accessing a neurological phenomenon. With the positive thought your muscle stays strong indicating that your body's life energy and brain functions are switched-on.

With the negative thought your muscle switches off demonstrating how negative thoughts actually affect your physical body, and this interferes with your golf game. As you observed and experienced for yourself, the contrast is very easy to see.

Three Secrets of a Consistent Golf Stroke

Three Secrets of a Consistent Golf Stroke

 by: Chuck Evans, G.S.E.D.

"At Last! The "3 Secrets" Of A Consistent Golf Stroke -- Revealed! How You Can "INSTANTLY" Drop Strokes Off YOUR GAME!"

What you are about to read... will change your golfing life forever! What are these three "secrets"? If you knew how would they effect your game?. These three "secrets" are what the worlds best players do. Every player MUST know these "secrets" if they are to have a powerful, repeating golf stroke.

The problem with the majority of golfers is that they don't know what to do. Oh their friends, well wishers at best, tell them that they are "bending their left arm", "raising up through the shot", "coming over the top" and host of other swing faults. But these are the same people that shoot the same scores you do! What could they possibly tell you that would improve your game?

The information you are about to receive is not theory or conjecture but science. Ooooh, you say, this sounds complicated. Well it isn't, it is simply the laws of force and motion that govern our entire lives and day to day living. Once you understand these simply laws your golf game will forever change...for the better!

Secret #1: A Flat Left Wrist

Because the golf stroke involves a golf club, a left arm, and a wrist in between, it is called a "lever system". The left wrist acts as a "hinge pin" much like the old time "flail" used to beat wheat. This "hinge pin" can rotate, cock or uncock but NEVER Bends!

Golfers however routinely bend the left wrist causing the clubhead to reach the ball before the hands do. This causes a "quitting" motion, adds loft to the clubface, points the face to the left of target, makes the clubhead swing upward disrupting the downward motion that ALL good golf shots MUST have. Good players DELOFT the clubface at Impact. Poor players ADD loft to the clubface costing them distance, direction, and trajectory.

A 5 iron, for example, has approximately 8 degrees for "forward lean" when soled properly. At Impact with good players the "lean" is approximately 15 degrees. This turns the 5 iron into a 4 iron. Poor players reach Impact with a "backward" leaning clubshaft thereby ADDING loft and turning the 5 iron into a 6-7 iron!

Secret #2: A Staright Plane Line

You only have two choices when it comes to the swing plane, you are either on or you're off. There is no middle ground!

What exactly is the swing plane? The plane is the angle of the clubshaft as it sets at address - period! It is NOT Hogans plane of glass as many would have you to believe. There are only three planes available;

  1. Horizontal - a wall

  2. Vertical - the floor

  3. Inclined somewhere in between

As golfers you and I use the Inclined Plane to swing the club back up and end, down out and forward, up back and in making the Golf Stroke three dimensional.

The clubshaft, actually the sweetspot of the club, may travel to any other plane angle during the swing as long as it DOES NOT cross the base of the plane. Here is a simple way you can know if you are on plane or not. Whichever end of the club is nearest to the ground MUST also point at the base of the plane from horizon to horizon. If neither end is nearer then the clubshaft MUST be horizontal to the ground and parallel to the base of plane.

Secret #3: A Lagging Clubhead

Lag by definition means "trailing". When the clubhead passes the hands coming into Impact there is no "lag". Without "lag" the golf ball cannot be compressed, we cannot hit downward, and we have a tremendous power loss. Clubhead lag promotes a steady and even acceleration giving us a dependable way to control distance.

Look at any picture of your favorite player at Impact. The left arm and clubshaft are in ONE LINE! Never two lines. This means that the player is utilizing "lag". When a ball is struck with "lag" it explodes off the clubface! Without this "lag" the sound turns into one of mush, a soft Impact instead of a driving Impact.

If you follow this outline, learn these three "Secrets" you will be hitting the ball with more compression than you ever thought possible.

For example, a Driver striking a golf ball with a 2 degree "backward" leaning clubshaft at 100 mph with 9.5 degrees of loft produces a launch angle of 6.4 degrees and a carry distance of 230 yards.

By changing Impact to a 2 degree forward leaning clubshaft the player produces a launch angle of 10.4 degrees and a carry of 251 yards. A 21 YARD INCREASE WITHOUT buying a new Driver and simply having clubhead lag!

YOU can improve your game dramatically by following the steps outlined above. Become the best player YOU can be and start winning those 4 way presses! If YOU really want to elevate your game, hit it farther, straighter, and nearer the hole then practice what I've shared with you.

Improve your Golf Game by Learning The Secrets of The Golf Club Grip

Improve your Golf Game by Learning The Secrets of The Golf Club Grip

 by: Ben Poston

Grips are the least expensive yet one of the most important parts of a golf club. Remember, the grip is the only part of the clubs that you make contact with, so its extremely important to make sure that you have the right size and the right quality of material. If you use a club grip that is too small, there is a good chance that the club will twist towards the target just before impact and cause the clubface to be closed. This often happens when the golfer unconsciously grips harder just before impact, resulting in the twist. If you use a club grip that is too big for you, your physical grip will often break loose at an off center impact causing the club face to be open

OK, so what grips are right for you? Believe it or not, that depends more that just how big your hands are! Hand size, which is easy to measure, will determine the final grip size that you should have on your club. The size of your golf glove is an easy way to tell how big your grip should be. Basically grips come in Ladies size, which is also a Mens small. Then there is regular, and midsize, and jumbo.

But heres SECRET number ONE about grips!! Grips have an internal core that is different between styles of grips!! And heres SECRET NUMBER TWO the end of the golf shaft comes in different dimensions between styles of shafts!! What this means is that even if your golf glove size determines you need a particular grip size, you can still go wrong if you put that size with a smaller inner core on a shaft with a large outside dimension. So you see, its the combination of golf core size and shaft OD that REALLY determines the final true size of the grip!!!

Youd be amazed at how many golf club makers sell people clubs without even MENTIONING the grip! And youll find that most (if not all) of the click and ship websites dont even take core size and shaft OD into consideration AT ALL!! They just ask you how big your glove is, and then stick a cheap grip on the end of the shaft and thats it. PLEASE dont let this happen, because youll pay for it in your golf game!!

Last, but certainly not least, you need to understand a very important piece of advice CHANGE YOUR GOLF GRIPS OFTEN. Over time, grips will oxidize, harden, get slick and LOSE THEIR GRIP (sometimes called tacki-ness), especially if you keep your clubs in the truck of you car (which we dont recommend by the way). You should remember to re-grip your clubs often it will improve your game. Change your grips at least twice each season if you are an average weekend golfer. Does that sound like a lot to you? Did you know that some of the pros change their grips every week? So change your grips and change your game.

Weight Training For Golfers Is The Missing Link To A Great Game

Weight training for golfers may sound exhausting to you and even an oxymoron, but I can tell you it?s not a secret anymore. Weight training for golfers is a must if you want to achieve your highest level of golf performance.

You don?t need to fear it! Embrace it and realize you will not only play your best golf?you will feel better than you have in years! I receive dozens of emails everyday from golfers who were skeptical, but gave it a shot and their results are amazing!

Worst case scenario for some of them is better health. The time you spend working on your golf swing technique is critical to your success. Some of these golfers embarked on one of my weight training for golfers programs and didn?t put any time on the range.

The result for just a small percent of them was more energy, less aches and pains, and a dramatic drop in bodyweight. Needless to say they were still more than thrilled they did it.

But for the majority of these golfers I hear from have results that have evened amazed me. Increases of up to 50 yards on their drives! Slashing their handicaps by up to 8 strokes! And even winning their Club Championships!

These are very exciting emails to receive?and it?s proof that weight training for golfers DOES work! I can say with every fiber in my body, that if you improve your body?s ability to move from both a strength and flexibility standpoint, it is virtually impossible to not see improvement in your golf swing and game.

Don?t you think if you could make just a little bigger backswing you would hit it further? Or, if your lower back muscles were a tad bit stronger, you wouldn?t walk off the course with an aching back? I know you?ll agree with me.

Weight training for golfers is not going into a gym and plopping down on a machine. This does nothing for your golf game! Golf is played ?on your feet?, and in a very dynamic position (golf posture), that requires a unique set of muscular strength, endurance and flexibility.

The right program is one that involves balance and coordination exercises, along with sequence of motion movements with resistance. This resistance can be as simple as exercise tubing, hand weights, or even weighted medicine balls.

Just take a look at the demands the golf swing puts on your body and you?ll soon realize your weight training for golfers program needs to be dynamic. One that incorporates movements similar to your golf swing in both body positions and movement patterns.

Seek out a qualified golf trainer who has a proven track record with golfers. One of the most affordable ways is to search for golf fitness, golf training or even golf exercises.

Remember if you use google, which is maybe how you found this article, the first few colored results at the very top are ?paid advertisements?. The ones with the white background are the organic or real search results.

There are many choices out there. Just do your research and you?ll be on your way to starting your weight training for golfers program.
